The 1960's and 1970's were not just an experiment in color, they were a time of innovation in fabrics that transitioned traditional items to easier care, such as polyesters that needed little to no ironing - an important convenience as women started entering the workforce and simply had less time to spend on domestic chores. This table set is one such example; a traditional Quaker lace was reinterpreted in a polyester blend, keeping a formal look but making it easy to care for. The fabric is an off white with taupe accents and indeed, when I pulled it from the dryer it required no ironing.
